Toni Servillo is a multi-award winning actor and director who has brought works of classical and contemporary authors to the stage in Italy and in the world. They include: Rasoi (1991) by Enzo Moscato, Sabato, domenica e lunedì (2002) and Le voci di dentro (2013) by Eduardo De Filippo, Trilogia della villeggiatura (2007) by Carlo Goldoni and Elvira from the lectures of Louis Jouvet (2016). He has staged works by Mozart, Cimarosa, Mussorgsky, Strauss, Beethoven and Rossini in Europe’s most important opera houses. He has been playing leading roles in films since 1992 for Mario Martone (Death of a Neapolitan Mathematician, Rehearsals for War, We Believed), Paolo Sorrentino (One Man Up, The Consequences of Love, Il divo, The Great Beauty), Andrea Molaioli (The Girl by the Lake, The Jewel), Matteo Garrone (Gomorrah), Stefano Incerti (Gorbaciof), Roberto Andò (Long Live Freedom, The Confessions) and Francesco Amato (Lasciati andare). With Gianfranco Capitta he has written Interpretazione e creatività (Laterza, 2008).
